Paint and Refinishing

Collision Solutions uses only the finest Sikkens materials in the refinishing of your vehicle. Sikkens is a European finish designed by AkzoNobel, the world's largest coatings manufacturer.

Color Matching

Color Matching

Every vehicle comes with a unique paint code for the color of your car that we reference. However, because creating a color involves using very specific formulas, it's not uncommon for your vehicle's paint code formula to produce a slightly different color than what is actually on your vehicle.

To minimize color variations, we maintain an extensive color library and formula retrieval system to find the most suitable match for your vehicle. We also use a process called “blending”, where the color coat is blended into the adjacent panel so even the slightest color variation is not noticeable.

Refinish Process

Spraying

Inside a pressurized spray cabin, first we finely sand each part being refinished. If a part is refinished while attached to the vehicle, we “mask off” the other areas to protect them from unintended damage. Next, we use spray guns to apply coats of primer, basecoat (color), and clear coat to your vehicle. Each repainted part is then force-dried (oven-baked) to produce a durable and lasting finish.

Corrosion Protection

Your vehicle is protected against corrosion before, during, and after the refinishing process through the use of corrosion-resistant primers, seam sealers, and anti-corrosion compounds.

Graphics, Pinstripes, and Decals

The graphics and pinstripes on a vehicle may be painted on or applied as a decal. Painted graphics are applied freehand or they are applied in a series of masking steps. Decals are applied after the paint has is dried.
